![]() ![]() It is faster for me to troll through my inbox and delete them manually. Trying to permanently delete the contents of the Spam folder using the junk mail menu options doesnt work and using the delete key sends it to the Trash folder where I have to delete it a second time. Using SpamSieve to filter Spam messages that have arrived while the plugin is not active later is pointless. Most of the 'spam' goes into this folder but doesnt appear in the Junk mail folder. I see the behaviour with an update of SpamSieve and after an OS restart as well.Īfter an OS restart I now know I have to go into Mail Prefs to make sure the plugin is enabled and the rule for moving the Spam email is also active. This lets it performs its analysis, scoring, and tagging in. This is a change that Apple made for all Mail plug-ins starting with macOS 10.14. It is normal for the plug-in to be disabled after an update. There was never a bug with SpamSieve disabling its plug-in. Not sure why, I was led to believe this bug had been fixed. ![]() Per MacRumors: In the WWDC session, Apple indicated that older Mail app plug-ins will stop functioning in an unspecified future macOS release. You can integrate SpamSieve with nearly all major mail apps, including Apple’s Mail, Outlook, AirMail, Gyazmail, MailMate, and others. I just upgraded and SpamSieve is still disabling its plugin and launch of Mail. Just select the messages and choose Message ‣ Apply Rules. Based on what I’m reading, it would seem that Apple has deprecated the previous plugin framework and indicated that devs need to switch to their new MailKit framework. ![]() If spam messages arrive in the inbox while the plug-in is disabled, you can still have SpamSieve filter them later. If you have a suggestion for what it should do differently, please let me know. This is why SpamSieve reminds you to re-enable the plug-in right after the update. (I agree that it is an unfortunate user experience.) ![]()
